The stretchable Mr. Fantastic is based on the new movie ‘Fantastic Four’ but it is basically the same as the Stretch Armstrong I had as a kid. Everyone I knew wanted one and they were fun to play with. When I gave this new Mr Fantastic stretch figure to my son, he had a ball with it. Tugging away to see how far it would go. It does seem more durable than the Stretch Armstrong of old and is not as likely to break or tear. I recommend this toy highly!

I recently purchased this toy for my son. He’s still a bit young for it but I stretch it out for him from time to time as he watches in wide-eyed amazement. As some have mentioned it’s good for kids and adults as well. Nothing like stretching the heck out of this thing to relieve some stress lol. Some of you may remember the older stretch armstrong that was in production years ago. I have fond memories of that toy when I was a young child, definitely one of my favorites till I eventually poked a hole in it and the poor thing “bled” to death. As a kid, that was traumatic lol. Anyway, since they were no longer sold here in the U.S. for the past several years I was planning on buying one on Ebay from overseas for roughly $100. I was thrilled to see this classic toy return here and it saved me a ton of cash I would of spent anyway.Obviously the durablility of this toy depends on how the child treats it. They call him stretch armstrong, not spike armstrong. Poke stretch with a sharp object and he’ll have a one way ticket to the trash dump. Along the same lines, have a couple overzealous kids both grab one side of stretch and pull their hardest and watch how quickly he’ll rip apart. This toy is built well enough to withstand normal play but if a child wants to be destructive with it, nice knowin’ ya stretch.Bottom line, well worth the price tag in my humble opinion. I’m so pleased with stretch I plan on buying a couple more for both of my nephews Christmas.
